ABOUT
Our primary purpose is to support children, young people and adults to improve their literacy and numeracy skills in order to enable them to have: career choice, improved employment options and to improve their general health and wellbeing. More and more we are being asked to support children and young people who are starting to fail academically, have become anxious about school, or are refusing to attend.
Goals
Our first priority when supporting individuals is to set a mutually agreed goal with the main focus on improving performance by at least one grade. Meaningful goals are the single most effective method of increasing performance.
Supporting others
Our support usually focuses around the key educational transitions, such as: starting secondary school, commencing GCSE studies, completing the final push before exams, stepping into higher level studies, or entering the world of employment/apprenticeships. With just two members of staff, re regularly support up to 100 students to achieve success.

Barriers to learning
We recognise that not all students have access to a computer/laptop and WIFI. If they do it is often a shared device. In fact, some students have been trying to learn using pay-as-you-go mobile phones with limited credit. For some students the thought of learning via a video link is enough to make them disengage from the whole process.
Essential Funding from the Lloyds Foundation
Thank you to the Lloyds Foundation for their funding support that has enabled us to keep our doors open during these challenging times. We can't thank Lloyds enough for their support, words of advice, and generosity.

Developing or community reach
We have settled into our new offices, which are more centrally located and support our extension of community connections. Our outreach sessions are being further developed and will be designed to reach all age groups and abilities. If you can't get to us, we will do our very best to come to you, especially now that spring has sprung!
